2022 Half Marathon and Marathon Training
12 Week Training Program ~ Starting January 22
Fall is an awesome time to do long race in Nashville, so we’re not waiting until spring to get back together on the streets of Nashville! After a long, involuntary hiatus, East Nasty is back with a FREE training series open to everyone. Our program will focus on training plans for half and full marathon distances.
The race options this fall are great, so whether you’re training for the Rock’n’Roll Racing Series, Nashville Marathon, Middle Half, Nashville Ultra or tons of other races, this program can work for you. (But not Flying Monkey, because you can’t train for Monkey.)
Our long runs are key to this program, and will be held every Saturday from August 28th through November 13th at various sites around the city. By completing registration for this training, you’ll be signing up for a detailed training plan, pre-planned routes, and weekly training specifics that will be sent weekly via email.
Our half marathon training runs will start at 7am every day during the training period. If you’re in for longer races, the marathon group will start earlier and circle around meet up with the half training group for additional mileage.

More Details
The Program
Beginning Saturday, August 28th and continuing for 12 weeks, our training program consists of:
LONG RUNS on Saturday mornings from different locations throughout the city. Half training will start at 7am. Full distance training start times will vary by distance and route.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT RUNS with East Nasty at 12th and Holly AKA ‘The Grassy Knoll’.
AN ACCOUNTABILITY GROUP who can give lots of support and advice.
WEEKLY NEWSLETTER updates, with training notes, special events, and a brunch or two!
If you’ve trained with us before, you’ll notice some changes. This fall session is 12 weeks instead of 16, and groups will be self-paced (more like Wednesday night runs) so make sure you know the route! We plan to be back full-steam for the Spring series.
One thing that hasn’t changed is:
the Cost
As with all East Nasty programs, training with us is absolutely free!
Training Requirements
The only requirement is that you are able to run five miles without stopping on the first day of training for half marathon training or eight miles for full marathon training.
CONTACT info
Email training@eastnastyforlife.com with questions and for additional information, or reach out on social media to any of the training organizers: Michelle Allen-Parker, Amanda Morris, Kevin Howard, and Sarah Shearer.
COVID PRECAUTIONS
It goes without saying that the safety of our runners is top priority. Should COVID-19 public health guidelines and recommendations change at any time, the program will be modified accordingly.
Download the Training Plans
This training plan includes a schedule and description of the Saturday runs, and pacing definitions and workout details. Update emails will come out periodically, but check the training plan each week. Nashville is a busy city, so occasionally a location needs to be adjusted.
