Ashley Evans
It is my pleasure to introduce you to our newest East Nasty of the Week (ENOW), Ashley Evans! While Ashley is at most Wednesday night runs, you probably haven't seen her because she's crazy fast. In fact, she recently finished the Chicago Marathon in 2:48:49. And it was her first marathon! I told you, crazy fast. Let's get to know Ashley!
Ashley grew up in Jackson , TN and was, not surprisingly, very athletic. In middle school, she ran cross-country and was a cheerleader. In high school, she ran varsity track, cross-country and played varsity tennis. In college at Tennessee Technological University, Ashley ran track and field and cross-country.
Ashley has lived in Nashville for almost three years. She is finishing up her masters at Lipscomb University in Exercise Science and Nutrition. She works at Harpeth Hall Middle School as an Assistant Swim Coach.
Ashley started running with her mom and her middle cross-country team when she was in sixth grade. Her biggest accomplishment in running is finishing her first marathon this year in Chicago (see above).
Ashley heard about East Nasty when she won the Nashville Half Marathon and met Courtney Smith and Ina Ables, former East Nasties. The "great running routes and fun people to run with" are what Ashley enjoys most about East Nasty. Her most memorable East Nasty experience is the first time she came to East Nasty and could not wait to come back.
When Ashley's not placing 20th Overall in her first marathon (!!), she likes to rock climb, practice yoga and go to concerts.
Ashley, congratulations on Chicago! I can't imagine running that fast. Welcome to the ENOW club!
