Hugh Mundy
Pop quiz, hot shot: you’re at Tootsie’s down on Broadway when the drummer passes out. What do you do? What do you do? If you’re Hugh Mundy, you jump onstage and take over. You become an instant rock star, playing drums with the band on-the-fly for a Delbert McClinton song. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Hugh Mundy is our East Nasty of the Week.
In addition to his extemporaneous, emergency musical skills, Hugh has some other things going for him, too. As a federal public defender, Hugh upholds the principle that someone is “innocent until proven guilty,” and has been involved in some very high-profile cases (just Google him).
He ran in high school in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and then during his undergrad at Notre Dame, concentrating on the mile and the 1500. After attending law school at Catholic University in D.C., Hugh lived in Phoenix and New York before finding himself a Germantown loft here in Nashville. He’s been running with the East Nasties for about 6-weeks, and thinks we’re a swell group of people. Awww.
Something that my internet research unearthed (and that Hugh failed to mention in our little ENOW interview) is the fact that he was on the Nashville Scene’s “Lust List” in 2007 (hence the glamour shot above). That’s right, Nasties – we run in the presence of fame. Be sure to congratulate him when you see him next.
