Wednesday July 19 - Heatin' up downtown
Route #5
This Wednesday is one of our most popular runs: Route #5: Walking Bridge. It’s always fun to run across the bridge and through downtown. We're in the thick of summer - it's hot. We have coolers of water, but often run out during the hotter weeks. So, be sure to bring some fluids with you and hydrate before and after the run. Keep an eye on each other for anyone who may be struggling with the heat.
We meet at the corner of 11th & Holly at 6pm. We run every Wednesday – rain or shine. You can READ HERE for more details on how our Wednesday night runs work.
If you are a run/walker, check out our Lasty Nasty group on facebook to see if anyone is meeting early to run/walk. Most of that group is participating in, or volunteer coaching, our P2T Couch-to-5K program.
Tomato 5K & Fest
Be sure to sign up for our ‘homecoming’ race – the YMCA Tomato 5K on August 12th. Hundreds of Nasties run this race each year and it kicks off one of the best days of the summer - the annual East Nashville Tomato Fest! Mark it on your calendar! Once again this year we will have a booth at the fest with water and merch and we will need some volunteers. Keep an eye out for details soon.
Weekend Long Runs
We’ve got 2 options for you for free weekend long runs this summer and fall.
PR Bandits – Saturdays. East Nasty is partnering with the ‘PR Bandits’ again in 2017 who are hosting supported long runs on Saturday mornings. Check them out on Facebook HERE and watch for their posts here on this blog. This Saturday’s run starts at 6:o0am at Bicentennial Park.
Fall Marathon Training – Sundays. Board member Alyce Scrivner is leading long runs on Sundays training for fall half and full marathons. These runs are supported, but less structured than our spring training program. Weekly details for these runs will be through email so you will need to contact Alyce at: a-scrivner@comcast.net if you want to get on that list
