Hello East Nasty - hope everyone is doing well. Tomorrow we will be running route #8. Please scroll down a little and check out a map of the route on the right hand side of the page. Weather right now shows that it will be in the 50's tomorrow so as long as it stays dry we should be in for a nice evening for running. Now a few announcements regarding some future events for East Nasty. SHIRTS - SHIRTS - SHIRTS - SHIRTS - SHIRTS - SHIRTS
So here is the deal: all the time people will ask me "Hey when are you going to be ordering some more East Nasty shirts ? " Well the answer is NOW. If you do not have an East Nasty shirt or if you are wanting too add to your collection, now is your time. Here is the best part - we have a few options for you this go around. First for the girls - if you would like a lulu lemon tank top in black or white then tomorrow night is your last night to order one. You will need to bring $30 with you to the run tomorrow night in order to be placed on the list. Lulu lemon is ordering the shirts on Thursday February 24th so tomorrow night at the run is the last night to get one - yes they will accept a check. If some of you ladies want an east nasty shirt and not a tank top then we have another option for you. We will be getting some dry-fit shirts from fleet feet also. For all of the male East Nasty's we will be ordering some dry-fit shirts for you as well. We will have a size run tomorrow night for the women and the men in the dry-fit shirts so you can make sure you get the right size. The shirts are exactly the same as the grey shirts we got last year for the country music 1/2 marathon but they are a different color this year. They are great shirts and should only be $15 a person. The money for the fleet feet shirts will not be due until the shirts come in. We will be ordering those shirts on Monday February 28th so you can either sign up for one at the run tomorrow night, the sunday 1/2 marathon training run or you can send an email to me at rdrewjones@hotmail.com and I will put you down for one. We will not be ordering apparel again until sometime this summer and those will probably be singlets so if you want an East Nasty shirt to run in then this may be your only time this year to get one.
Tom King 5k and half marathon water stop
Many of you have attended this event in the past and it is one of the coolest things we do all year. The Tom King race this year is on March 12th and East Nasty will be joining forces again with Fleet Feet to put on the best water stop / party you can find at any race in Tennessee. The cool part for this year is that our couch to 5k group will be running in that race and we can be there to give out water and cheer them on right on the race course. Our water stop is right at the midway point on the 5k. For the 1/2 marathon we are at the 1 mile mark for the runners on their way out and at the 12 mile mark for the runners on their way back. This really is a very fun and exciting event and it is one of the ways that East Nasty gives back to the running community. You will be hearing more about this event in the next coming weeks but go ahead and plan on being out there with us on Saturday morning to cheer on the runners and fellow East Nasty's in the 5k and 1/2 marathon race.
Thought of the week
This week I am going to veer of the "thought" path again and give a little pub out to an Easy Nasty legend named Kevin Kaz. Now most of you have probably met this guy already but there are a few things you need to know about him. First of all his last name is really much longer than Kaz but you are doing yourself a favor by just going with the shortened version. 2nd Kevin came to Nashville and East Nasty from Rhode Island. I mean seriously how many people do you know from Rhode Island ? I know one and his name is Kevin Kaz. 3rd Kevin came down to Nashville to start a scooter business with a friend and after the economy went down the crapper he went a total different direction and started Kaz video. That was actually one year ago and in the past 12 months Kevin has filmed over 400 bands and made a good name for himself here in the Nashville music scene. Well enough of the history of Kevin Kaz - let's talk present, since Kaz video has been such a success and because Kevin is so money he has decided to host a party to celebrate his first year in the biz. The party will be Friday night March 4th at the Basement and all East Nasties are invited. There will be live music, drinks, deserts and even some stand up comedy by three of the more outspoken East Nasties. Kevin is a fast runner, a hard worker and a great guy to know so please plan to come out and celebrate with him. If there is one thing that East Nasty is known for it is being social and this event is going to be right up our alley. Hopefully plenty of you are going to be in town and will be able to make it to the Kaz Video Wicked Amazing Super Party :-)
