9/30 - East Nasty Churches
Route
East Nashville is one of the oldest communities in Nashville. Many of the buildings date back to the late 1800's early 1900's, and some of the most beautiful architecture is highlighted in the churches. To enjoy these buildings, this week we have a figure 8 loop that will feature many of these old churches. (we'll pass about 13 churches in all!) Run #11.
So during the run, take a moment to observe the amazing neighborhoods that we get to run through every week - East Nashville is truly a unique community. Below are some links to some of the churches that we will pass on Wednesday.
(Also - this week is a great week to invite novice runners. New runners are always welcome, but since this run is a figure 8, beginners could stop after running/walking 2 miles.)
I probably don't need to introduce Race for the Cure, or convince you that it is a good organization. So let me just tell you that East Nasty Jill Mongene is in charge of the race, and will be asking us (men) to volunteer and you (women) to participate. Pencil that race in for the morning of October 10th.
The Return of the Sunday Long Run
Beginning this Sunday, October 4, Chuck "the delight" Hargrove has brought back the Sunday morning long run! A detailed listing of all the runs is posted on the "Sunday Morning Runs" tab on this blog. This Sunday will leave from the parking lot under the train trestle in Shelby Park at 8:30 am.
See you on Wednesday.
